Lincoln Beer Festival

Frequently
Asked
Questions

How do I get to Southside?

Southside is at the southern end of High Street, just one mile from the bus and railway stations. It’s an easy walk. Alternatively, catch a number 1, 13, 15 or 16 from the bus station and get off at Tealby Street. On average, there is a bus every six minutes.

Is there car parking at Southside?

There is plenty of on-street parking around the venue. A large, free car park will be available across the road on South Common.

Can I buy tickets in advance?

There are no advance tickets. Everyone pays on the door.

Will the Festival accept cash payments?

As part of your admission to the Festival, you will purchase a beer card. We accept cash or electronic payment on the door. Beer cards can be used at the real ale, cider and world beer bars. Southside will have their own bar selling other drinks. They will accept cash and card payments.

Will there be disabled facilities?

Southside is wheelchair accessible and there is one accessible toilet.

Will there be seating?

Yes. There will be tables and chairs in the Amie Slavin Hall, together with some seating in St Katherine’s Hall (the main hall).

Will there be a printed beer list?

Yes.

Will there be drinks for non-beer drinkers?

Yes, there will be a fantastic range of cider and perry. The Southside bar will have a selection of other drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Will there be low and no-alcohol beers?

Yes, there will be bottled low and no-alcohol beers on the World Beer Bar.

What food will be available?

Will dogs be allowed at the venue?

Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the venue. Other dogs are allowed in the outside area but, if it becomes very busy, it may be kind to your pet to take it away.

Will I be able to leave the Festival and return later?

Yes, re-admission on the same day will be allowed, as long as you still have your wristband. If, when you return, we have reached the venue fire limit, you will have to join the queue.

Will there be plenty of beer left on Saturday?

Real ale takes time to settle and this process can be unpredicatable. We aim to have as many beers as possible on sale when we open and, when they’re gone, they’re gone. However, we are confident that there will still be a good choice available on the Saturday.

Can I return my souvenir glass?

Yes, you can return the glass and reclaim your £4 deposit.

What if I don’t spend all the money on my beer card?

We will refund the money left on beer cards. Alternatively, you can donate it to our Festival charity, which is Southside. Southside is managed by Acoustic Nations Live, a Community Interest Company which aims to use music as a force for good in Lincoln and the wider county.

How can I become a Festival volunteer?

The volunteer application form is on the Lincoln CAMRA website.

Are there any real ale pubs near the venue?

Yes, there are a number of real ale pubs on the lower High Street, including three which feature in the current Good Beer Guide.
